New poll shows Hillary lost major ground to Trump on key issue & for first time on ‘equal’ footing

After her email troubles came to an unsatisfactory settlement, presumed Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton came out of the scrape without an indictment. But that doesn’t mean she suffered no consequences from the fallout over her breach of national security.

A new poll now finds that she has lost major ground to Donald Trump on the question of who is more qualified to be President. For the first time, voters now see Trump as equally qualified as Hillary to be president.

A new poll by Rasmussen shows that questions over whether or not she would be arrested and put on trail for breaking America’s security laws with an easily hackable private email server secreted in her home when she was Barack Obama’s Secretary of State have driven her formerly high ratings down and elevated Trump.

The Rasmussen survey found that a mere 22 percent of Likely U.S. Voters agree with Obama’s statement that “there has never ever been any man or woman more qualified for this office than Hillary Clinton.” On the other hand, sixty-five percent disagreed with Obama’s claim.

Worse for team Hillary, even a large portion of Democrats disagreed with Obama’s statement. Only 42 percent of the Democrats who participated in the survey agreed with Obama’s claim that Hillary was supremely qualified to be president. While fully 36 percent disagreed openly with Obama’s bald claim.

But when Rasmussen added Trump to the question, things got worse for Clinton. While 42 percent said Hillary was more qualified than Trump to be president, 40 percent said Trump was the one who was more qualified meaning that the poll was essentially a tie between Trump and Hillary on the question over qualifications for the Oval Office.

This is huge shift in sentiment from past polling. Only last April the numbers were sharply different with fully 50 percent saying Hillary was more qualified and a low 27 percent saying Trump was.

The poll seems to show that Hillary’s email troubles really hurt her in how Americans view her suitability for office.

Rasmussen isn’t alone in discovering Americans who find themselves doubting Clinton over this email business. A new ABC?Washington Post found that 57 percent ay Clinton’s handling of emails worries them.
