The Dallas police gunman had no previous criminal record and, reportedly, no connections to terrorist groups but his social media profile tells a different story.
The 25 year-old Dallas resident was identified by authorities as Micah Xavier Johnson, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Johnson allegedly opened fire on police in an ambush attack on Thursday, following a peaceful protest march in downtown Dallas, leaving five officers dead and another seven wounded.
He was killed when police detonated a bomb after hours of stalled negotiations with the suspect who said he wanted to “kill white people, especially white officers.”
Following standard practice, Facebook deleted Johnson’s profile after his identity was revealed, but Independent Journal Review was able to get screenshots of some of his activity on the social media site.
Johnson’s deleted Facebook profile was confirmed by CBS, according to IJR.

Johnson’s Facebook page showed he was part of the Black Panther Party Mississippi, according to the IJR.
A recent Facebook like was for The African American Defense League, a group that regularly calls for the killing of police officers, IJR reported.
Johnson also ‘liked’ the Dallas, Arlington and Ft. Worth police pages:
There was no mention of Johnson’s military service on his Facebook page.
