Hillary Clinton was subjected to a three-and-a-half hour interview by eight agents at FBI headquarters in Washington D.C. Saturday, over the use of her private email server, which she used to conduct official business while secretary of state.
This was confirmed by Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill.
“Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was secretary,” Merrill said in a statement, according to CNN. “She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion.”
A voluntary interview? Really? Dan McLaughlin, writing for National Review Online, probably said it best:
“Raise your hand if you’ve ever known anyone who was eager to speak to FBI investigators for three hours on a Saturday morning in an investigation targeting their conduct and that of their staff.”
Then factor in that the “voluntary interview” was conducted at the start of a holiday weekend.
“Three-and-a-half hours is quite a long time to meet with the FBI,” Fox News Channel national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported.

Leading up to Saturday’s interview, the FBI questioned Bryan Pagliano, the former State Department information technology specialist who maintained Clinton’s server, Clinton’s Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills and longtime personal adviser Huma Abedin.
The interview came four days after U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, during what Lynch described as an innocent meeting.
Few people were buying the innocent nature of the meeting, however.
Although a decision t0 prosecute ultimately rests with the attorney generalm Lynch said she will defer that decision to FBI Director James Comey, who was described as being “the center of gravity on this thing.”
