Nancy Pelosi has heckuva demand during gun control ‘sit-in’ after what she did to GOP in 2008

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi seems to have a short memory.

The California congresswoman demanded Speaker Paul Ryan “turn on this microphone” on the House floor which had been shut off earlier Wednesday, according to the Washington Examiner.

Republican lawmakers shut off the cameras and microphones after House Democrats violated rules, staging a sit-in to force a vote on gun control legislation. The move by the GOP House members forced lawmakers to shout to be heard and prevented broadcasting by CSPAN, which presents video of the House and Senate floors from committee rooms.

“This is a courtesy that we ask,” Pelosi said. “What would be the reason that the Republican majority in the House is saying, ‘Well we can’t remove you physically — well maybe they will — but we’re going to turn off the microphones?'”

However, Pelosi was guilty of the same thing in 2008 when she was the House speaker.

Microphones were cut and lights were turned off in the House chamber by the Democratic leadership at the time because Republicans would not adjourn for the August recess. The GOP lawmakers were pressing for a vote on offshore drilling. The speaker’s lobby adjacent to the House chamber was also closed off to reporters who generally conduct interviews with lawmakers there.

With the tables turned this time, it seems Pelosi’s demand for “courtesy” proves she can dish it out, but can’t really take it.
