Judge Jeanine Pirro weighed in on the criticism being leveled at Maryland’s top prosecutor in the Freddie Gray case.
After two trials and no convictions, Baltimore’s state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby has come under fire for her handling of the case in which six police officers were charged with the death of 25 year-old Gray, who died in police custody in 2015.
“Honestly I don’t think she belongs in that position,” Pirro said on Fox News on Monday. “I think she’s got real problems and her rush to judgment has negatively caused this city, Baltimore, enormous costs, money, looting, businesses. Shame on her.”
Pirro noted that Mosby’s “rush to the spotlight” in prematurely judging before all the facts were in, is a reflection of her “inexperience.”  Mosby’s behavior was a contrast to that of the African American judge who acquitted Officer Edward Nero of all charges on Monday, Pirro said. “That’s the difference: when you’ve got real, ethical professionals as opposed to people who are looking for the limelight,” she said.
“When you’ve got an amateur in a position as important as this, where it’s about everything other than the facts,” Pirro said, “then we’re going to have no justice for anyone.”
