A pizza store in Virginia weighed in on the controversial transgender bathroom topic, offering help to customers who needed to understand the issue.
The Virginia Beach based Windy City Pizza posted a large sign outside of its store, WTKR TV reported, that read:
“We have a men’s room. We have a ladies room. If this confuses you, we can help!”
The sign, which has since been changed, sparked outrage with some who posted negative comments online, like “I sincerely hope you end up going out of business,” WTKR reported.
One potential customer told the news channel the store owner has a right to post whatever he wants.”To me it seems like it’s a common sense issue,” she said, “I don’t understand why there has to be a big deal about it.”
The store owner, who did not want to be interviewed on camera, told WTKR that he did not have a specific stance on the issue and likes to post messages that stimulate conversation. In fact, Windy City Pizza only has gender-neutral bathrooms.
