Thanks, but no thanks.
Sen. Marco Rubio announced in the clearest terms imaginable that he has no interest in becoming Donald Trump’s running mate. Although the Florida Republican endorsed his party’s presumptive presidential nominee, he said no thanks to the notion.
CNN anchor Jake Tapper tweeted late Monday afternoon:
In a statement to CNN, @marcorubio says he’s not interested in being @realDonaldTrump‘s running mate pic.twitter.com/VCVd2azXRC

And for the most part, everyone applauded his decision.
@jaketapper Rubio was respectful to presumptive dude, Trump. After the way Trump bashed him, Rubio used great restraint. Rubio’s a good guy.

Trump told Kirsten Powers in an interview last month that the junior senator from Florida would be a possible vice presidential pick.
“Yes. I like Marco Rubio. Yeah. I could,” he told Powers. “There are people I have in mind in terms of vice president. I just haven’t told anybody names … I do like Marco.”
He can scratch that name off his list.
