Actor Alec Baldwin will be working on a new role in his TV return this summer.
The former “30 Rock ” star will be trying his hand at being a game show host as the classic “Match Game” is revived by ABC, Mashable reported.
The original Match Game, premiering on NBC in 1962, has had revivals over the years with airings on CBS and ABC. The classic episodes in the 1970’s were hosted by Gene Rayburn and featured celebrity panelists like Betty White answering fill-in-the-blank questions.
ABC’s new Sunday Fun & Games TV block will feature the 10-episode series hosted by Baldwin who is also billed as an executive producer. Steve Harvey’s “Family Feud” and “The 100,000 Pyramid” with host Michael Strahan will also be part of the ABC lineup.
Baldwin will be donating all of his earnings on the show to charity, via the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation, Mashable reported.
“I am beyond grateful to ABC and Fremantle Media for the chance to host a summer series of the legendary Match Game,” Baldwin said in a statement via ABC. “Hilaria and I are thrilled to donate this fee to arts related charities. And we look forward to having a lot of fun.”
Baldwin is known for his notorious temper and outspoken liberal views. We’ll see how it goes.
