Hillary Clinton shouldn’t have ignored the late Ambassador Chris Stevens’ repeated requests for added security.

That was the appraisal of Lydie Denier, an actress and model and Stevens’ former Fiancé who spoke to Newsmax TV’s Steve Malzberg.

She told him that they were briefly engaged in 1994. Although they never married she always thought fondly of him.

“I hear some news that there was an attack in Benghazi,” Denier told Malzberg. “It was just flames and there was a picture of a man and with that picture I had a bad feeling. I knew something was wrong but I couldn’t tell because I’m blind as a bat, so I need my glasses and I didn’t have them on.”

So she looked for her glasses.

“But they kept repeating, ‘the ambassador died.’ There was the name written under the picture but still I couldn’t see it. When his picture came back on the screen I put my glasses on and it was him. It was a shock.”

Denier is currently working on a documentary titled, “A Voice for Ambassador Chris Stevens,” a tragedy that she places at the feet of the then-secretary of state.

She described their first meeting in the documentary, and the significance of the date September 11:

I met Chris Stevens in Cairo on September 11, 1994. We were both smitten from the start. He was my first love, and I was his.

When we broke off our engagement it had only been a few weeks after terrorists had murdered over 3,000 people at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. However, we remained devoted friends until his tragic death.

And of course, Stevens was murdered on September 11, 2012.

“As far as Hillary Clinton, it would take more than six minutes for me to say how I feel, but obviously you know I feel,” Denier said. “I think she should have done a better job for security and not ignore his requests. And if he was a friend, like she said, he was a friend, then you don’t let your friend down.”
