Maddow blames ‘white men’ for on-air visual mix-up

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow’s show would have gone off without a hitch if it wasn’t for those pesky “white men.”

Maddow apologized when her show mistakenly used a picture of Congressman Peter King while Maddow was speaking of Senator Angus King on Wednesday.

Besides their “whiteness,” which Maddow was quick to point out in her apology, the two don’t seem to have a lot in common. Peter King is a Republican from New York while Angus King is an Independent from Maine.

No matter. Maddow jokingly brushed off the mix up, calling it the show’s “best visual screw up ever.”

“[Peter King] is not a senator, he’s not an Independent, he’s not from Maine, and he’s not a person who caucuses with the Democrats, and he’s just… white men! That’s the only way I can get there visually. That’s it.”

What does race have to do this? Oh yea, it’s MSNBC, so of course.

For the record, here’s a picture of Angus King.

Dead ringer? Hardly.
