A man threatened to kill former Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields if she didn’t drop her battery charge against Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
The charge against Lewandowski stems from an incident at a Florida campaign event in which she alleged he manhandled her while she was asking the Republican presidential front-runner a question.
The threat was made on the phone at her Washington, D.C., residence Friday, and TheBlaze obtained a copy of the recording as well as Fields’ police report Monday.
“I’m going to find you Michelle, and I am going to kill you,” the man said on the phone.
“OK,” Fields replied.
“I know where you live,” he continued.
“OK,” Fields replied.
“You’ve got 36 hours to drop the charges,” he continued. “I’m dead serious.”
“Or what? What are you going to do?” Fields asked.
“I’m going to slit your throat,” he said matter-of-factly.
“OK, you have serious issues,” Fields said. “Anything else? Or are you just going to keep calling me and saying this?”
At that point the caller hung up.
Fields filed a police report Friday about this and similar threats made against her on Instagram and through her brother.
“On April 1st, 2016, at approximately 0100 hours, the undersigned responded to the listed location for a felony threats report,” officer Jake Coletti wrote in the report.
“Upon arrival, C-1 reports that at approximately 0045 hours, S-1 commented on C-1′s Instagam several times threatening to kill C-1. S-1 also called C-1 and threatened her again.”
Fields was forced to flee her Washington, D.C., apartment after Fox News and BuzzFeed accidentally disclosed her address.
