Amid criticism that he has been unfairly giving GOP front-runner Donald Trump disproportionate airtime compared to other candidates, Fox News host Sean Hannity defended himself.
Hannity claimed that he has repeatedly been turned down by Sen. Ted Cruz to appear on his show after reaching out to the candidate multiple times.
For the last 10 days I have offered @SenTedCruz another full hour on my show. I was told they could not make it work https://t.co/2KjT4xjHEs

Call the @SenTedCruz campaign. I have offered them an hour for the last 10 days. They said they couldn’t work it out https://t.co/s5VdHJKuZO

Twitter followers accused the conservative television host of giving Republican front-runner Trump excessive time on the air while Cruz’s last appearance lasted only 12 minutes, according to a campaign spokesperson as reported by The Blaze.
Rapid response director for the Cruz campaign Brian Phillips indicated that the Texas senator’s appearance on Monday’s “Hannity” was dominated by the host “pushing Trump smears.”
Hey #CruzCrew, check out Cruz on @seanhannity tonight, but might be last time you watch. Sean spends half the intv pushing Trump smears.

While some Twitter users supported Hannity’s claim, others were not so forgiving.
.@seanhannity @SenTedCruz Why would Cruz go on your show? You spend whole time interrupting him to defend Trump? Its embarrassing (for you)

@seanhannity @SenTedCruz Maybe he does not feel FNC is a fair venue, with Donald Trump living on the channel and the cheerleaders for him

@seanhannity @SenTedCruz I can no longer watch Fox. It’s now the Trump Network

@seanhannity @SenTedCruz Your questions are posed to have Trump mentioned in the response. Let him stand on is own merits. I don’t blame him

@seanhannity @SenTedCruz @andersoncooper same! Every day CNN asks cruz and he refuses – yet cruz blames media for Trump airtime!
— Rosheen Amend (@rosheenamend) April 1, 2016
@seanhannity @SenTedCruz Ted is in “damage control” mode now. He hid the wife, ignores calls for interviews. This is a classic politician

@seanhannity Everyone watching sees Cruz dodging media. He skipped MSNBC townhall last week. His probs coming to surface. You rock, Sean!

@WaskelweeWabbit @RealBPhil @seanhannity He denies it but he has sold out his principles and become foxes Chris Matthews.
