In celebration of its tenth anniversary, Twitter has added a new feature to the micro-blogging platform. Now whenever you “like” a tweet by clicking on the little heart icon, the heart bounces and bursts into a cloud of colorful confetti.

The animation has tickled some, but among serious Twitter users, the overt cuteness has been met with derision. Sometimes, people just want to like a tweet without a big show about it.
