After dominating in the Nevada Republican caucuses, a victorious Donald Trump addressed his supporters in a victory speech.
“A couple months ago we weren’t expected to win this one, you know that, right? We weren’t,” Trump said to the chanting crowd Tuesday.
“Of course, if you listen to the pundits, we weren’t expected to win too much,” the GOP candidate said. “And now we’re winning, winning, winning the country — and soon the country is going to start winning, winning, winning.”
The electoral victory is Trump’s third, after winning in South Carolina and New Hampshire. He told supporters the Nevada win included evangelicals, young people and the “poorly educated.”
“I love the poorly educated,” he said. “We’re the smartest people, we’re the most loyal people.”
Trump also told the cheering crowd he was very happy about being “number one” among Hispanics as he said he got 46 percent of their votes.
With more than a dozen states holding primaries and caucuses on Super Tuesday, Trump heads into next week with a significant lead over the other Republicans.
“You’re going to be proud of your president,” he said. “You’re going to be even prouder of your country.”
