As Republicans denounced President Obama’s plan to close the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, one senator offered up a visual reinforcement of his opinion.
Sen. Pat Roberts left nothing to the imagination in his epic tweet slamming the president’s intention of moving the terrorists to U.S. soil.
ICYMI this is what I think about @POTUS‘ plan to close #GITMO & send terrorists to the U.S. pic.twitter.com/5ceyu5I2tc

The Kansas Republican was not alone: other senators joined the backlash, albeit without video.
Moving #GTMO terrorists to the U.S. is a grave threat to Colorado and our national security: https://t.co/UUy9NgBsRk

Americans will not stand the thought of placing terrorists on U.S. soil. #GITMO https://t.co/KEt7DAPcID pic.twitter.com/YQcVDkPieR

President Obama is putting American communities at risk with his plan to close #Gitmo & move terrorists stateside. https://t.co/IUbf3RMNOl
— Senator John Thune (@SenJohnThune) February 23, 2016
I urge the president to reconsider his dangerous plan to import these terrorists into our homeland. #Gitmo

South Carolina’s Senator Tim Scott reacted with a series of tweets.
The location @WhiteHouse is looking at in South Carolina is within five miles of a dozen schools, multiple neighborhoods. #Guantanamo
— Tim Scott (@SenatorTimScott) February 23, 2016
The law couldn’t be clearer: @WhiteHouse doesn’t have authority to move dozens of dangerous terrorists to American communities #Guantanamo
— Tim Scott (@SenatorTimScott) February 23, 2016
No reason to put a target on an American community; we already have an isolated facility, well-guarded by Marines: #Guantanamo
— Tim Scott (@SenatorTimScott) February 23, 2016
I’ll use every tool at my disposal to stop this illegal, reckless plan from moving forward. Period. #Guantanamo
— Tim Scott (@SenatorTimScott) February 23, 2016
Even Majority Leader Paul Ryan challenged Obama’s plan.
The President’s plan to close #Gitmo is not only reckless, but illegal. Stand against it: https://t.co/776xL0rrjL pic.twitter.com/CdbhvwedoW
— Paul Ryan (@PRyan) February 23, 2016
The president’s announced plan set off a wave of legal questions and faces an uphill battle against a Republican-controlled Congress, as reported earlier.
