When one Michigan couple was getting married, the bride presented her husband-to-be with a special bonus to his wedding ring.
Engraved inside his ring was the simple directive: “Put it back on.”
A photo of the ring, shared by the couple’s friend on Reddit, has been viewed over one million times.
Five years and three children after that wedding date, Dan Tallman, 30, said that sense of humor is what has made his marriage to wife Amanda so strong.
“She’s a prankster. She’s got a great sense of humor,” Dan Tallman told ABC News. “Some people are commenting that she must be insecure or something, but it’s quite the opposite. People tell us we have the best marriage they’ve ever seen.”
Tallman recalled the first time he saw the ring and the engraving his wife had ordered.
“We ordered the ring at the jeweler and she slipped the lady a note and then when the ring came in I saw it for the first time,” Tallman said. “I just laughed. That’s Amanda in nutshell.”
