Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump threatened to skip Thursday’s GOP debate if Fox News doesn’t throw Megyn Kelly off the lineup of selected moderators.
“I don’t like her. She doesn’t treat me fairly. I’m not a big fan of hers at all,” Trump told CNN host Wolf Blitzer on “The Situation Room” Monday.
Trump wavered back-and-forth on the issue.
“I’d like to go to the debate,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.”
“If I think I’m going to be treated unfairly, I’ll do something else,” Trump said. “But I don’t think she can treat me fairly actually. I think she’s very biased and I don’t think she can treat me fairly.”
Then he claimed that he enjoyed debating, and that he’d won all the previous GOP debates.
“But that doesn’t mean I don’t do the debate,” he said. “I like doing the debates. I’ve won every single debate according to every single poll… so I want to do the debates, they’re good for me. But I don’t think she can treat me fairly and I’m not a big fan of hers. Maybe I know too much about her.”

Oliver Darcy, deputy managing editor at The Blaze, noted that Trump couldn’t help but take a swipe at Kelly. He tweeted:

Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean didn’t mince words. She tweeted:
Why aren’t journalists standing up to this bully behavior? #unacceptable @realDonaldTrump @megynkelly https://t.co/s5zYv1NpNt
— Janice Dean (@JaniceDean) January 26, 2016
Dean had her supporters, such as this:
@JaniceDean @rlboutin @realDonaldTrump @megynkelly Go Janice so glad you have not gone over to the dark side.

But not everyone was onboard with her:
@JaniceDean @realDonaldTrump @megynkelly Hey, Janice stick to weather. Please!

And what is Fox News Channel’s position?
“Sooner or later, Donald Trump, even if he’s president, is going to have to learn that he doesn’t get to pick the journalists—we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly,” a network spokesperson said in a statement.
