‘We decapitate you!’ German refugee workers told to dress down, face rampant sexual harassment

A German refugee worker is coming to terms with reality after spending months processing asylum seekers.

Disillusioned and on the verge of quitting, the woman told German newspaper Welt Am Sonntag she was at first “overjoyed” at the prospect of helping refugees, Express.UK reported.

It didn’t take long for her feelings to change. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has taken note that the majority of the refugees are young men; and few, if any, have any respect for women.

Her words taken from Express:

“For us women they have often only scornful looks – or just intrusive. They whistle loudly, say something to one another in a foreign language, laugh.”

“It’s really very unpleasant. It even happened that they have photographed us with their Smartphone.”

“They do it without asking even if one has protested. I once walked up some steep stairs and some of the men walked behind me and they were laughing the whole time and, I guess, talking about me. They shouted something at me.”

The woman stated that female refugee workers have begun wearing high-necked, loose-fitting clothing and little makeup, and have abandoned using public transportation to and from work due to safety concerns.

It sounds as if the German women are destined to don burqas, but who can blame them for wanting to be as safe as they possibly can be in an extremely difficult and increasingly dangerous situation.

“Some from an Arab region recently yelled at a colleague of mine: ‘We decapitate you!'” she said, according to the Express. “Because of these and other things, the police were called to us several times a week.”

The woman said few refugees keep doctor appointments, or abide by agreements made with authorities. Forged documents, and a multitude of lies, run as rampant as sexual harassment.

“But if I am honest, working with 90 per cent of them is rather awkward, and unfortunately not as I previously thought,” she said, according to Express. “Termination is really the only thing left for me.”

The woman said quitting her job is hard because it would be admitting that she had been wrong about the refugee situation which she once embraced.

“And I was previously so very convinced of the job and the whole refugee thing in itself; it is a little different than anyone has imagined. Now I think more specifically about it.”

“Many colleagues also want to quit,” she added. “Because they can stand it no longer.”
