‘It’s my baby!’ Bronx woman rips baby from pregnant woman’s womb

BronxWadeNew York police officers were called to the scene of unspeakable carnage in the Bronx, Friday.

Police found a woman claiming “It’s my baby!” at a blood-soaked scene where she had reportedly killed another woman, who was nine months pregnant, and literally carved the baby out of her belly, according to the New York Post.

Ashleigh Wade, 22, allegedly slit the throat of Angelikque Sutton, also 22, and, incredibly, ripped the infant girl from the mother’s womb in an attempted Caesarean section.

Wade’s boyfriend had reportedly walked in on the unimaginable scene, and called the police who found him outside, cradling the baby, according to the Post.

Police took Wade into custody, finding her inside with the victim who was lying on the floor with the placenta and umbilical cord.

“It appears that the fetus of this woman was removed … surgically removed by the perpetrator,” said Councilman Andy King, according to the New York Daily News. “This is an ugly incident that cannot be condoned.”BronxSutton

Wade, who apparently was telling neighbors that she was pregnant and told police the baby was hers when they arrived, was being held for observation, and charges against her were pending, according to the Post.

“She tried to sell the idea that the baby was hers and she had just given birth right there,” a high-ranking police source said. “But that was clearly not the case,” reported The News.

The baby, taken to the hospital, was named Genesis. Sutton’s boyfriend, and father of the child, Patrick Bradley, was in a state of shock, according to The News, as he frantically tried to see the baby but was denied because of the pending investigation.

“I’m the baby’s father. I’ve been with her for eight years,” Bradley, who was seen weeping in the hospital, told The News. “I don’t know what’s going on. Were there any survivors?”

Sutton, whose father is a pastor at  Zion Hill Pentecostal Church, had just graduated from St. John’s with a criminal justice degree.
