The Texas college student who suggested on social media that the ambush murder of a uniformed deputy while he was pumping gas was somehow his fault, should have remembered she already had a warrant out for her arrest.
Sam Houston State University student, Monica Foy, tweeted Tuesday that she couldn’t understand why everyone was so upset over the shooting death of Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth, wondered what he’d done to deserve being shot, and added that he had “creepy perv eyes.”
Foy’s Twitter account was later cancelled. Her final tweet simply said #BlackLivesMatter. However, other social media users were able to take screenshots of the tweet before that happened:
The image of Foy’s tweet soon spread on Twitter, and social media users were appalled.

How does it feel to be famous? And how did the perp see his eyes shooting him from behind? @Monicafoycan pic.twitter.com/72gyc0lLII — Stacey Lennox (@ScotsFyre) September 1, 2015
Surveillance footage showed someone creeping up on Goforth from behind and shooting him in the back of the head. After the deputy fell, his assailant pumped an additional 15 rounds into the body.
Career criminal Shannon Miles was arrested for the crime the following morning.
Publicity surrounding Foy prompted a world of hurt to fall upon her. The Houston Chronicle reported:
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brady Fitzgerald confirmed on Wednesday that they received a call stating that Foy had an outstanding warrant for assault causing bodily harm out of Harris County.
She was arrested at her home in the county after deputies checked the system.
In addition, Sam Houston State University spokeswoman Julia May told the Chronicle that the school may have a surprise in store for her.
“We are conducting a rigorous evaluation to determine if she violated any laws or policies as a student,” May said.
There has been some concern from alumni about Foy’s actions considering that the school is known for its high number of law enforcement majors.
“We are a place of open dialogue and discussion but this opinion is not representative of the university community at all,” May added.
