Those overpaid louts sporting Transportation Security Administration uniforms at the nation’s airports are incapable of finding simulated bombs, weapons and other contraband in internal tests, but President Obama has the highest confidence they’re keeping the traveling public safe, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Tuesday.
Asked at the daily briefing about a study released Monday that found TSA agents failed to spot banned items in 67 of 70 tests, Earnest said there was absolutely nothing to worry about.
“The president does continue to have confidence that the officers of the TSA do very important work that continues to protect the American people,” he said, according to The Hill.
OK, so a 95 percent failure rate doesn’t bother Earnest so much. It did bother Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to remove the guy who’s been running the TSA since January.
Obviously, something is wrong when the battalions of unionized bullies who put on the kabuki theater of security at American airports fail to spot exactly the kinds of bombs and weapons they’re being paid too much to be on the lookout for.
Maybe they’re too busy screaming at hapless travelers to take off their belts, shoes and hats, remove their laptops, check for liquids and then stand electronically naked inside an examining booth.
“The American public should feel confident traveling in airports across the country,” Earnest said, practiced liar that he is.
But Earnest, living in a White House security bubble, doesn’t have to deal with TSA goons on anything like a regular basis. Nor does his boss.
The American public that does, though, isn’t feeling confident. It’s feeling outraged – like it always feels when the TSA obscenity comes up.
Josh Earnest won’t even say if the White House is alarmed by the TSA failing 96% of tests. Wow.

.@KatiePavlich no one in the White House flies commercial, so what do they care?

@KatiePavlich why should the White House be worried – no TSA clowns working Air Force One security.

Those are good points. No matter what its current problems, the Secret Service does considerably better than failing 95 percent of the time.
Of course, the messaging starts at the top.
@KatiePavlich Too busy focusing / overstating how the world respects our 4% passing rate.

@KatiePavlich Like the economic growth news, they would just claim results are due to faulty metrics.

@KatiePavlich Typically in business, management already knows stats before even being released for public’s consumption.

That would mean Obama, Earnest, Valerie Jarrett and the rest of the crew already knew about the study before it got released Monday.
It would mean they know for a fact just how stupid the so-called security at the nation’s airports has been in the years since the TSA and its uniquely unqualified work force started their Potemkin patrols.
It would also mean they don’t give much of a damn.
Or as one Twitter user put it, succinctly:
@KatiePavlich@ScotsFyre Now we know what the TS stands for.
