Jasmine Crockett praises Ketanji Brown Jackson: ‘She continues to flex her brilliance’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett came to the defense of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, predictably pulling race as an issue.

The Texas Democrat ranted in a social media post about how the Biden-appointed justice “continues to flex her brilliance” even as fellow liberal justices have called her out for essentially misunderstanding or misapplying longstanding legal precedent.

“The meltdown over Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is truly something EVERYONE needs to pay attention to,” Crockett wrote in a post on Wednesday.

“You see, as the first & only black woman to ever serve on the court, she had to be 10 times better than most… She continues to flex her brilliance in oral arguments & many dissents,” the Democrat continued.

Crockett continued her cheerleading for the justice as she again pointed out her race while arguing Jackson “Definitely Earned It,”  which seemed to cast a spotlight on the DEI criticisms.

“Please note that by the time a black woman ascends to a powerful position, she Definitely Earned It… if you have any questions… let’s talk about Senator, now Secretary Mullin… or please pull the resumes of some of the other justices before entering this chat… actually just don’t, it’s not a debate, these are FACTS (alternative facts = LIES),” she concluded, ripping into former Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin, who was sworn in as the United States Secretary of Homeland Security.

Social media users quickly threw cold water on Crockett’s fiery defense of Jackson.

Jackson was the lone dissent in the Supreme Court’s 8-1 decision this week on Colorado’s ban on “conversion therapy” for minors. Fellow liberal Justice Elena Kagan was joined by Justice Sonia Sotomayor in a footnote that called out Jackson.

“Justice Jackson’s dissenting opinion claims that this is a small, or even nonexistent, category,” she wrote. “But even her own opinion, when listing laws supposedly put at risk today, offers quite a few examples.”

Among other criticisms of Jackson, Crockett’s post defending her drew a wave of reactions on X.
