CBS News is being accused of going “full Nick Shirley” after reporting on alleged Medicare hospice fraud in California.
“There’s a stretch in Los Angeles with 500 registered hospice companies within just three miles of each other. And 89 in a single building,” the network said in sharing its video on X. “But when we visited, we found empty offices, piled-up mail, and phone lines dead.”
“Medicare hospice fraud can happen in a few different ways,” CBS journalist Andy Yamaguchi said. “Shell companies can buy stolen Medicare numbers on the dark web and then bill the government for the services that they don’t ever actually provide.”
Influencer Eric Daugherty shared the reporting from CBS News on X, adding: “WOW! CBS news went FULL NICK SHIRLEY on Gavin Newsom’s California, storming up to one single building in Los Angeles with 89 hospice offices ’72 of them raise red flags for FRAUD’ Nick Shirley was called a ‘creep’ for showing up like this, now the mainstream media is doing it! Independent journalism wins the day.”

Nick Shirley found himself being targeted by the left after posting a 40-minute video on X earlier this week alleging $170 million in fraud within California’s daycare and hospice system. Shirley identified “ghost” centers in the video that were registered to empty lots and unrelated businesses.
Here is the full 40 minutes of my crew and I exposing California fraud, Minnesota was big but California is even bigger… We uncovered over $170,000,000 in fraud as these fraudsters live in luxury with no consequences. Like it and share it, the fraud must STOP.

As a result of the fallout, Shirley requested money from supporters on Wednesday for security, saying he was getting doxing and death threats.
“After last nights and the constant doxxing attempts and threats from people who want to attack me largely due to politicians and leftist hate filled rhetoric as I expose billion dollar fraud schemes stealing from taxpayers, I’ve decided it’s time to raise money for security cost once again unfortunately,” he posted on X.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
I have a feeling he’s barely even scratching the surface. The dems have had the entire state of California to themselves for so long with no oversight that it might take a lifetime to get to the bottom.

Yeah, let’s don’t call it full Nick Shirley. They went Nick Shirley light extremely light. They’re going after things that are almost meaningless almost and intentionally walking around running around the tens of millions at each of those other stories that Nick and Cam Higby are…

Start with the sketchy property owner..
And, hospice requires a lot of equipment, daily transactions, medical supplies, morgues, death certificates, etc…
The fraud is out of control.

Thank you @nickshirleyy for opening America’s eyes to all the fraud & corruption — stealing our tax dollars and robbing hardworking Americans blind!
