Team USA under fire for behavior during national anthem

Team USA is under fire for how they behaved during the national anthem at the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday.

Eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice a difference in how the teams, Venezuela and the United States, reacted to the national anthems of their respective countries. Notably, most of the American team couldn’t be bothered to sing along, and even the audience could be seen staring off into space.

Watch:

Compare this somber reaction to that of Venezuela when their national anthem played. Both the team and the audience sang along with a measure of pride and passion, creating a stark contrast between the two reactions.

X users weighed in on both sides:

As BizPac Review previously reported, Venezuela would go on to beat the United States 3-2, making history with their very first WBC championship. This prompted President Donald Trump to post a one-word message on Truth Social and spark speculation about his next moves in the country after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro.

“STATEHOOD!!! President DJT,” he wrote.

This had been previously mentioned in a post from Monday, where he commented on Venezuela’s victory over Italy in the semifinals.

“Wow! Venezuela defeated Italy tonight, 4-2, in the WBC (Baseball!) Semifinal. They are looking really great. Good things are happening to Venezuela lately! I wonder what this magic is all about? STATEHOOD, #51, ANYONE?” Trump asked.
