GWB Presidential Center seeks ‘unfettered migration from most dangerous nations on planet earth’

The George W. Bush Presidential Center is urging Americans not to “turn our back” on Afghans, despite a horrifying attack.

In an X post published on Friday, the GWB Presidential Center advocated for Afghan citizens who are now in limbo as their immigration applications are derailed following the alleged actions of Rahmanullah Lakanwal. He is accused of shooting two National Guard members, killing 20-year-old West Virginia National Guard Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and critically wounding 24-year-old Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe. Lakanwal has officially been charged with first-degree murder in the attack, according to The Associated Press.

The suspect has been identified as an Afghan asylum seeker whose “behavior deteriorated so sharply that a community advocate reached out to a refugee organization for help, fearing he was becoming suicidal.”

While President Donald Trump’s administration has enacted restrictions on the country in the interest of national security following the attack, the Bush Presidential Center is encouraging continued cooperation as “Afghans are facing uncertainty at home and in the U.S.”

Look:

Stephen Miller categorized the call as “very earnestly posting about the urgent need for unfettered migration from the most dangerous nations on planet earth, while effectively conceding some of these migrants will try to kill us.”

The post  explained why it thinks Americans should support Afghans, as the Trump administration “has paused and is reexamining all immigration applications from Afghanistan and 18 other travel ban countries like Iran, Venezuela, Sudan, Haiti, Cuba, Laos, and more.”

“Afghans risked their lives over the last two decades in the pursuit of a prosperous future for all, working in partnership with the United States. They shouldn’t bear the burden of one man’s heinous crimes,” the graphic reads. “America committed to their well-being through longstanding resettlement pathways in gratitude for supporting critical security, diplomatic, and humanitarian objectives, which advanced U.S. interests.”
