Disney dismisses allegation it pushed pro-Palestine propaganda in a recent holiday ad

Disney is dismissing allegations that it quietly pushed pro-Palestine propaganda in a recent holiday ad.

With political and social messaging being shoved in Americans’ faces from all sides, one could be forgiven for being suspicious that a seemingly innocuous sticker could have a deeper meaning. This is exactly what happened with a portion of a Disney+ holiday advertisement, when eagle-eyed viewers saw what they believed to be a subtle nod to Palestine.

For those who may have missed it, the complaint stems from this watermelon sticker that is briefly visible on the girl’s laptop:

The watermelon has become a symbol of the pro-Palestinian movement following the October 7 attack on Israel, with leftists promoting its use as a way to show they support the cause in things like social media names and posts.

“Either they have screwed up royally on quality control, or the woke agenda runs so deep they don’t even notice when they’re spreading anti-Jewish propaganda,” said British MP Richard Holden.

But according to The Times of Israel, Disney is denying any subliminal propaganda in their ad.

“The sticker shown in the advert was chosen randomly and is not a political statement,” Disney said, according to the outlet.

This comes after Disney angered its left-leaning users by deciding to pull late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel, after his insensitive and blatantly incorrect statements about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The upset was such that thousands of leftists threatened to boycott the company, including its popular streaming service Disney+, to punish them for the action. Despite eventually reinstating Kimmel’s show, many maintained that the corporation capitulated to conservative outrage with the initial suspension, and they would not be returning.

One user suggested that the sticker’s subtle messaging could have been a quiet attempt at luring the left back:

Another suggested that the sticker may have been the result of a crew decision, as opposed to the company making the choice:
