‘Can’t wait for discovery’: DeSantis trolls CAIR over lawsuit threat

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a cheeky response to lawsuit threats from CAIR over a new terror designation.

On Monday, DeSantis declared that his state will be recognizing the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as “foreign terrorist organizations” effective immediately.

Look:

“Florida agencies are hereby directed to undertake all lawful measures to prevent unlawful activities by these organizations, including denying privileges or resources to anyone providing material support,” his post reads.

It took no time at all for CAIR to respond to what they are calling DeSantis’s “defamatory and unconstitutional” order.

Look:

“The Florida chapter and national headquarters of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today announced they plan to file a lawsuit against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in response to his ‘defamatory and unconstitutional’ order baselessly smearing the group as foreign terrorist organization.”

Later in the evening, DeSantis published a response on X, indicating that not only is he not afraid of the threat, but that he’s looking forward to going through the discovery phase of legal action.

“I look forward to discovery — especially the CAIR finances. Should be illuminating!” he snarked.
