Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-California, is running for governor, but his apparent choice of campaign slogan could really use some work.
In what appears to be an attempt to capitalize on shock value and impress the younger contingent of voters with how ‘edgy’ he is, Swalwell is adopting “get shit done” as the theme of his campaign.

“California is the fourth-largest economy in the world, but what does that mean if you can’t afford to live here? The average age for a first-time homebuyer in California is 40 years old. That’s crazy!” Swalwell said in his campaign video, not acknowledging that the Democrat policies running the state are to blame. “We should be a state where you can take your first job, have your first kid, and buy your first home in the same decade.”
“I’m taking a ‘get shit done’ approach day one on housing. I’m going to declare a cost crisis, and I’m going to give every agency in the state 90 days to approve or deny every outstanding home application,” he said. “We’re going to surge new housing in this state, increase supply, and bring down the costs for new homeowners.”
“Here’s another problem. Too many of our seniors are living in four bedroom, two bath homes, oftentimes as widows, where we could have that supply for new, younger families and increased supply of senior housing in the state so those seniors have better, more affordable places to live,” he added, seemingly ignorant that when those seniors pass away, the home will be left to a “younger family” within their own bloodline. It’s not as though the house sits vacant until the end of time, standing as a monument to denied housing.
While this may have passed the sniff test (no pun intended) within his own office, X users were not nearly as impressed with his ad:
So plan to break down regulations so they more homes will be built in CA.
No joke that would be a good policy. That said a couple questions:
1) where will these homes be built?
2) who will build them, private or public sector?— dasX

What do you do about credit score which is the basis of being approved or denied in the first place and then down payment cost?
