Trump urges GOP to end filibuster to prevent ‘Obama sycophant’ Eric Holder’s call to pack SCOTUS

President Donald J. Trump renewed his calls for Senate Republicans to “terminate” the filibuster, which has been abused by Democrats to obstruct his reforms, and will be done away with the second it’s no longer useful when they are in a position to pack the Supreme Court.

In a Monday post to Truth Social, Trump urged GOP lawmakers to take action now in order to prevent the stacking of the bench with left-wing radicals, something that influential Democrats are calling for if the party retakes Congress and the White House, including former Attorney General Eric Holder, who called for “substantive reforms” to the nation’s highest court last month.

“Obama sycophant, the former Attorney General of the United States, who did so much to hurt our Country, and who weaponized the Obama Administration against the Republican Party (and ME!), Eric Holder (known as ‘FAST AND FURIOUS’) just gave a Speech where he emphatically stated, above all else, that Democrats will PACK the Supreme Court of the United States if they get the chance,” Trump wrote.

“The word is, he wants 21 Radical Left Activist Judges, not being satisfied with the heretofore 15 that they were seeking. It will be 21, they will destroy our Constitution, and there’s not a thing that the Republicans can do about it unless we TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, which will lead to an easy WIN of the Midterms, and an even easier WIN in the Presidential Election of 2028,” he continued.

“Why would the Republicans even think about giving them this opportunity? The American People don’t want gridlock, they want their Leaders to GET THINGS DONE — TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, AND HAVE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FOUR YEARS IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY, BY FAR, WITH NOT EVEN THE HINT OF A SHUTDOWN OF OUR GREAT NATION ON JANUARY 30TH!” Trump concluded, pointing out the very real possibility that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his mob will shut down the government again next month.

The president shared a clip from Holder’s appearance on a podcast for the left-wing MeidasTouch YouTube channel, where “Obama’s wingman” pimped his party’s talking points about the need for a transformational overhaul of the Supreme Court, where conservatives currently hold a 6-3 majority.

“I think the Supreme Court is a broken institution, and it’s something that has to be, I think, a part of the national conversation in ’26 and in ’28. What are we gonna do about the Supreme Court?” Holder asked. “And I think that we have to think about, again, talking about the acquisition, the use of power, if there is a Democratic trifecta in 2028, and I think the possibility of that is pretty good.”

“Supreme Court reform is something that has to be considered. Term limits, I think, at a minimum. Potentially expanding the court is something I think that also should be considered. We cannot leave in place without a discussion at least, and I think without substantive reforms being put in place for this Supreme Court as it is presently constituted,” the former attorney general added.

Despite Trump’s repeated calls to go “nuclear” by scrapping the procedure, Senate Republicans have shown no spine to take decisive action.

“They’re going to do it the first day. They’re going to pack the court, they’re going to make DC a state, and they’re going to make Puerto Rico a state,” Trump told GOP senators at a White House brunch last month, warning that not moving first will have severe consequences.
