The state of Florida will be hosting an event to destroy Chinese drones, and the United States military will get to participate.
Disposing of foreign spy tech doesn’t have to be as boring and tedious as taking out the trash. Over 500 drones will serve as target practice training for members of the military. Instead of simply torching the drones, Bloomberg reports that U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) will be taking them down with shotguns like some high-tech skeet shooting. The event will last three days and will serve to train the involved troops in the finer points of dispatching enemy drones.
FROM SEIZED TO SKEET: More than 500 Chinese drones confiscated by Florida officials will be used for military target practice.
Over three days, elite U.S. troops will train to take down enemy drones.

“The Military Drone Crucible training event is scheduled for Dec. 4-6 at Camp Blanding, according to the U.S. National Drone Association’s (USNDA) website,” Fox News reports. “The event will feature training sessions focused on clearing a room with opposing troops present and striking an enemy convoy.”
USNDA President Nate Ecelbarger provided a statement to Bloomberg News describing the upcoming training as “the largest counter-drone destruction event ever held in the United States.”

And they couldn’t do this when there were drones flying all over the east coast?

That’s a great plan. And those drones cost the taxpayers nothing.

Bravo. Shooting down and/or disabling drone IS the future of military combat. Just take a peek at how Ukraine has disabled the giant Russian army. U.S. military personnel NEED this practice. https://t.co/WvRB3j3C13

It’s a publicity show. You can’t honestly believe the US doesn’t have counter drone research.
