Video captured the terrifying moment that an 11-year-old was chased into a dollar store by a black bear.
Cole Frazee was wandering toward the Markleysburg, Pennsylvania, Family Dollar to check on his father, who had been inside for a while. But an ordinary trip into the store took a frightening turn when the young boy noticed a hulking black bear right behind him. The boy screamed and ran into the store, and in a later interview, he revealed that he believed he was going to be eaten.
“I was like, ‘I’m probably going to get eaten by a bear,’” he said, CBS Pittsburgh reported.
“When it runs after me, I turn around, I run in the store, I’m screaming and stuff. The thing was like a foot and a half away from me,” the 11-year-old continued. “I took a left and the bear went straight.”
Cameras recorded the bear’s sudden exploration of the store, including climbing on the counter.

Frazee and the store’s cashier, the only other person in the store, were able to get out unscathed.
“She grabbed her coat, the keys and the phone and we ran out of there. When we ran out of there, we all got in the car,” the child recounted. The bear, on the other hand, wandered around the store for another 10 minutes before deciding to leave.
“I was relieved,” Frazee said. “It was definitely a crazy experience.”
Those who live in areas where bears are more common are urged to keep a watchful eye out, as bears are actively looking for food before they hibernate for the winter. This sometimes leads them to cities and towns where they can encounter unsuspecting humans.

Black Bears are usually not dangerous to humans unless they feel trapped. They want nothing to do with humans.

This is WILD.
That kid was about to be eaten for sure.
They need to extend hunting season for bears. In NC it only lasts about a month, and there are now more bears than ever. https://t.co/kpA0TAqEpJ
