The View divas go at it when one rejects Michelle Obama’s claim the country’s not ready for a female president

It turns out, the ladies of The View actually disagree with Michelle Obama about something she said while on her book tour.

As BizPac Review previously reported, the former First Lady of the United States is currently out promoting her new book on fashion, and has taken a few speaking engagements to talk about the subject of beauty. During one talk, she implied that black people are putting themselves out to style their hair in a way that conforms to white “beauty standards.” In that same speech, she implied that she wouldn’t run for president because the United States isn’t ready for a female leader, and she cited the recent electoral loss of former Vice President Kamala Harris to prove it.

Turns out, The View co-hosts disagree:

“I respectfully disagree with the first lady,” said token Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “I don’t think that we’re not ready. I think when you look at the two candidates that were Democratic nominees, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, there is sexism that plays in. They were flawed candidates.”

“The reason they’re moaning is because the men are flawed too,” co-host Joy Behar said, pointing to the studio audience.

“Correct … but with Hillary Clinton, highly qualified, but she was someone who- it was an anti-dynasty time. They wanted someone who was an outsider. She had decades of dirt on her that people felt, from the Clinton era. Jeb Bush flamed out that cycle, people did not want a Clinton,” Farah Griffin explained. “People loved Kamala Harris but she was not a great communicator. She was not the best female candidate we were ever going to see run.”

When Behar asked who the best female candidate was, Farah Griffin simply replied, “We haven’t had one yet.”

When she’s not insulting the country that gave her and her husband millions of dollars and lucrative careers, Michelle Obama can be heard lecturing white people about their hair.

“Let me explain something to white people. Our hair comes out naturally in a curly pattern. When we straighten it to follow your beauty standards, we are trapped by the straightness! That’s why so many of us can’t swim, and we run away from the water, people won’t go to the gym because we’re trying to keep our hair straight for y’all!” she says, as if white people who straighten their hair don’t have the same issues. “It’s exhausting, and it’s so expensive and takes up so much time!”

“Braids are for y’all so we can work harder and focus on the work, so why do we need an act, an act of law, to tell white folks to get out of our hair? Don’t tell me how to wear my hair, don’t wonder about it, don’t touch it. Just don’t,” she adds.
