Massie says Trump’s new investigation into Dems connected to Epstein is plot so files can’t be released

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Kentucky, believes that there are other motives behind President Donald Trump’s persistence in investigating Jeffrey Epstein’s Democrat ties.

The GOP lawmaker is not pleased with Trump’s focus on getting to the bottom of the late sex offender’s relationship with top Democrats. While speaking to ABC News on Sunday, Massie suggested that the sudden interest is little more than a ploy to avoid releasing the files.

“The president has been saying this is a hoax, he’s been saying that for months. Well, he’s just now decided to investigate a hoax,” Massie said. “And I have another concern about these investigations that he’s announced. If they have ongoing investigations, those documents can’t be released. So this might be a big smoke screen, these investigations to open a bunch of them as a last-ditch effort to prevent the release of the Epstein files.”

This comes as Epstein survivors are calling on Congress to release the files:

They’ll never be released just because of how much further it all goes than sex trafficking, from arm sales to the narcotics networks. And the amount of government officials tied up in all will keep it classified forever.
