‘Utopia!’ Seattle mayor-elect Katie Wilson broadcasts socialist wish list

Seattle Mayor-elect Katie Wilson shared her wishlist for the city that sounds like a socialist’s letter to Santa Claus.

Conservatives are mocking Wilson’s list for being a virtue-signaling to-do list funded by taxpayer dollars, with no real roadmap for achieving her goals. It comes off as childish and unrealistic, creating high expectations that she may not be able to meet.

“I want everyone in this great city of ours to have a roof over their head. I want universal childcare, and free K-8 summer care. I want world-class mass transit. I want great, safe public spaces where kids can run around with abandon. I want stable, affordable housing for renters. I want social housing. I want much more land and wealth to be owned and stewarded by communities, instead of corporations. I want a robust economy with thriving small business, great living wage jobs and strong rights for workers. I want a city where everyone has the basics of a dignified life, including healthy food, access to healthcare and supportive communities,” she says.

But she didn’t stop there.

“I want a city where your health and your life and your life expectancy, and your child’s future, doesn’t depend on your zip code or your race. I believe I will be stepping into office with a strong mandate to pursue this vision. I believe it is notable that all of that money focused on attacking me, but not my vision and platform. And that is because this vision and platform are supported by an overwhelming majority of Seattle residents, as demonstrated by the resounding victories of the other progressive candidates running for office in Seattle this year,” she added.

Yes, it is easy to promote the narrative of takers, but not so much for providers. Consider asking health care providers, farmers, teachers, and storekeepers to work for free. There is no such thing as a free lunch; somebody is paying for it.

It is even more wonderful that she understands that if everything is free, then no one has to work for a living. She and her husband have enjoyed a work free life, why shouldn’t all the little diverse people? Just tax all the riches, like she gets money from her parents. Utopia!!
