Michelle Obama lectures ‘white people’ about straight hair: ‘Let me explain something’

Former first lady Michelle Obama’s public appearances are becoming more focused on white people and oppression.

The apparent obsession with being held back by whites, and more specifically, white “beauty standards,” is at the forefront of the ex-FLOTUS’s speeches as she promotes her new book on fashion. In a recent example, she lectured her Caucasian counterparts on why black women’s hair makes them feel “trapped” sometimes.

And it’s just as much self-inflicted victimhood as you can imagine:

“Let me explain something to white people. Our hair comes out naturally in a curly pattern. When we straighten it to follow your beauty standards, we are trapped by the straightness! That’s why so many of us can’t swim, and we run away from the water, people won’t go to the gym because we’re trying to keep our hair straight for y’all!” she says, as if white people who straighten their hair don’t have the same issues. “It’s exhausting, and it’s so expensive and takes up so much time!”

“Braids are for y’all so we can work harder and focus on the work, so why do we need an act, an act of law to tell white folks to get out of our hair? Don’t tell me how to wear my hair, don’t wonder about it, don’t touch it. Just don’t,” she adds.

At another point in the sit-down, Obama revealed that she has no plans to make a run for the White House.

“As you say in this past election, sadly, we ain’t ready [for a woman president.] That’s why I’m like, don’t even look at me about running, because you all are lying, you’re not ready for a woman. You’re not. So don’t waste my time. We have a lot of growing up to do. And there’s still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman and we saw it,”she said, talking about former Vice President Kamala Harris’s humiliating loss to President Donald Trump.
