California Congressman Brad Sherman is in damage control mode after being called out for appearing to view pornography on a flight.
X page “Dear White Staffers” posted photos of the aging lawmaker seemingly scrolling through adult imagery while taking a plane ride. The context of the photos is not immediately clear, but several different images could be identified in the photos posted by the account.

“Why did California Congressman Brad Sherman feel it was appropriate to look at porn on his iPad during a flight today? His district deserves better representation than this!!” the outraged account posted.
It didn’t take long for a journalist to ask Sherman about the bizarre incident. Punchbowl co-founder Josh Bresnahan conducted a “13-minute interview” with the lawmaker in which he denied intentionally viewing inappropriate content.
2/ Sherman denied repeatedly that he was looking or pornography or has a problem with pornography.
Sherman said these photos came up in “Twitter feed” under the “For You” heading

3/ Sherman: “This was on Twitter. These pictures came up on ‘For You.’”
“I must’ve looked at more than 1000 posts” during his flight, Sherman said.

“I must’ve looked at more than 1,000 posts,” Sherman reportedly told the journalist.
4/ I asked Sherman if it was appropriate for a congressman to be looking at this openly on a plane.
“Is it pornography? I don’t think Elon Musk thinks so.
“Is it appropriate? No.”

“I asked Sherman if it was appropriate for a congressman to be looking at this openly on a plane. ‘Is it pornography? I don’t think Elon Musk thinks so. Is it appropriate? No,’” Bresnahan says, quoting Sherman.
5/ Q. “Do you have a problem with pornography?”
Sherman: “No, I don’t have a problem.”
Sherman said “It’s all about the algorithms,” and asserted these pictures came up in his feed “because of the algorithms.”

The lawmaker also denied having a “problem with pornography” and claimed that “the algorithms” were the reason the images appeared on his feed.
6/ Sherman: “If I see a picture of a woman, might I look at it longer than a sunset? Yeah.”
— John Bresnahan (@bresreports) November 15, 2025
“If I see a picture of a woman, might I look at it longer than a sunset? Yeah,” Sherman admitted candidly. “If you have to fly across the country, you look at a lot of stuff on your tablet.”
