Charlamagne tha God says Dem should be 'leaning into' Jasmine Crockett

Radio host Charlamagne tha God claimed on “Hot and Bothered” Tuesday that Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett is currently the top messenger for the Democratic Party.

Crockett has risen to prominence with her racially-charged tirades and inflammatory attacks on Republicans, including dubbing wheelchair-bound Texas Gov. Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels” and repeatedly likening President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler. Charlamagne praised Crockett on the podcast for hurling racism allegations at the Trump administration.

“Jasmine Crockett is actually what the Democrats should be leaning into. Because she is a phenomenal messenger. And some people just got it. Some people just have a different anointing on them. You don’t know why certain people cause folks to gravitate towards them,” Charlamagne said. “To me, it’s more than Jasmine Crockett having that moment with [Republican Georgia Rep.] Marjorie Taylor Greene, where she was like ‘bad built bleach body’ or whatever it is. If you watch her in these congressional meetings, she’s always on message about something.”

The radio host then recounted recently seeing a clip of Crockett alleging that Trump and his entire administration are racist and explaining alleged instances to bolster her point. He said she was arguing that the Trump administration is not concerned with impoverished and underprivileged Americans.

“And just the fact that she was able to articulate that in that three-minute clip that I saw, and it was so powerful and so provocative, and you understood what the root of her issue was, and she got you by just saying, ‘Donald Trump is racist and this administration is racist and let me tell you why.’ And then you get into all of the issues,” he said. “I’m like, yo, you need somebody like Jasmine Crockett. She is the most effective messenger that the Democratic Party has right now.”

“And they need to be using her as a Trojan horse. And you know what? I hate how Democrats treat her. I expect the Republicans to say the things that they say and do the things that they do,” he added. “But this is what I always say about Jasmine Crockett. Republicans talk about Jasmine Crockett publicly. Democrats talk about her privately.”

Despite Trump facing two assassination attempts during his 2024 campaign, Crockett has called the president a “wannabe Hitler” and “Temu Hitler.” She has also repeatedly justified her rhetoric since the Sept. 10 assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, including during an interview with Charlamagne on “The Breakfast Club” on Sept. 12.

“Me disagreeing with you, me calling you a wannabe Hitler, all those things are like not necessarily saying ‘Go out and hurt somebody,’” Crockett said during the interview.

Moreover, Crockett said on SiriusXM’s “The Lurie Daniel Favors Show” in October that she was considering making a run for the Senate during the 2026 midterms.
