Kayleigh McEnany, Dem guest have verbal brawl over election night results

Daily Caller News Foundation

“Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany and former Obama administration official Marie Harf engaged in a heated debate Wednesday as they discussed the results of the off-year elections.

Democrats won high-profile elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York City, while also passing a highly partisan congressional map in California on Tuesday. Harf, on Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” recalled her part in Fox News’ coverage of President Donald Trump’s victory over then-Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, leading to a heated exchange.

“We could not call Virginia until very late in the night. We talked about New Jersey’s shift rightward. We all talked about how young men were fleeing the Democratic Party a year ago, by the way, at the same time that the Democrats have no national party leader, and the DNC is useless. Despite all of that, we beat Republicans across the country,” Harf claimed, with McEnany shooting back, “Was 2021 predictive of 2022? No.”

“We said we have lost young men and Latinos. Mikie Sherrill outperformed with Latinos in New Jersey. So Republicans should not take them for granted… Last night was not just a Democratic Socialist here in New York. It was Democrats, moderates running across the country, breaking the back of the Republican Party,” Harf said, with McEnany firing back, “Moderates who envision the deaths of children?”

Democratic Attorney General-elect Jay Jones of Virginia’s successful campaign to oust Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares of Virginia was nearly derailed by text messages he sent a colleague that expressed a desire to shoot the then-Republican speaker of the state’s House of Delegates in the head.

“Abigail Spanberger worked at the CIA,” Harf said, ignoring McEnany’s comment about the Jones texts. “She is not a Democratic Socialist!”

Democratic Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger of Virginia refused to call for Jones to end his campaign after the violent texts came to light in October.

“Fox and Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade noted that Democrats across the spectrum won, describing Spanberger as a moderate.

“She’s not a moderate, she’s not a moderate,” McEnany responded, with Harf claiming, “She is absolutely a moderate.”

“Why didn’t she pull her endorsement of Jay Jones, who talked about killing children?” McEnany asked in response, with Harf claiming, “First of all, she said she abhorred the comments and disowned them. He was already on the ballot.”

McEnany and Harf then went back-and-forth over Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani of New York City, prompting co-host Emily Compagno to make an observation.

“I think part of the shock for me, it’s not that he’s charismatic but blatantly antisemitic,” Compagno said. “It is an absolute travesty that there were candidates considered moderates who refuse to denounce and condemn horrifically violent rhetoric. I am just surprised that people voted for that.”

“But a lot of Jews voted for him… New Yorkers are not dumb. If he fails, they will elect someone else,” Harf said, with McEnany responding, “Socialism failed in the Soviet Union. It will fail in New York City.”
