Los Angeles-based musician Tish Hyman posted a video alleging her membership at Gold’s Gym Beverly Center was terminated after she called out a biological male using the women’s locker room.
In the Instagram video shared Sunday, a chaotic altercation unfolded as a man dressed in black is confronted for entering the women’s locker room while gym employees stand nearby. Hyman wrote that she and multiple other women repeatedly reported the man for entering the locker room and harassing them, but claimed gym staff failed to intervene.
“He has disrespected me multiple times, and I’ve only been ignored when I quietly reported it. But today I made noise!!” Hyman wrote.
Hyman alleged that as she walked into the restroom, the man came up behind her and called her a “bitch” in a deep, angry voice. Terrified, she ran into the gym screaming that there was a male in the women’s locker room.
The video posted to her Instagram shows two gym employees appearing to step in as nearby men rushed to Hyman’s aid.
“Did you tell me or not that women like to see dick?” Hyman asked. “Now he knows how to be a man, right? Now he knows how to be a man. Stay out of the women’s locker room! We don’t want it. He needs to have his gym membership revoked for that shit.”
“And the woman told you!” Hyman added. “He assaulted me. The girl told already. We already filed reports.”
The man accused could be seen complaining that Hyman had recorded him, while a female employee appeared to tell them they both would be “gone,” seemingly referring to the termination of their memberships.
Gold’s Gym Beverly Center did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
“You can’t get rid of me for this,” Hyman pushed back. “I’m a woman and I have every right to not want a man in the restroom when I’m naked. There are girls naked in there.”
However, despite the altercation, the man accused was seen walking back into the women’s locker room after one of the employees left the scene.
“Look at him walking in there like it’s okay,” Hyman said. “It’s not okay!”
Another video posted online showed Hyman near the employees’ desk, alleging that she was now barred from Gold’s Gym Beverly Center.
“At Gold’s Gym, men, grown men with big dicks in the women’s locker room. And that’s why I’m getting kicked out, and I want to make sure the girls know. The fuck,” Hyman said. Everybody saw that man in the fucking locker room. No one’s saying shit. And I’m fucking done with it.”
“It’s fucking stupid. It’s dangerous,” Hyman added. “Me, naked in front of a man without my permission. But I’m the one who gets kicked out the gym, y’all.”
The Gold’s Gym, where the altercation occurred, appears to have been acquired by EōS Fitness. According to company policy, EōS follows federal, state, and local laws regarding locker room and restroom use based on gender.
“In states and local areas with laws that require locker room and restroom use based on biological gender or that are silent on gender identity, members and guests must use the locker room and restroom corresponding to the gender identified on their government-issued identification,” the site states.
California law allows individuals to use restrooms consistent with their “gender identity” in both private and public spaces. According to the ACLU of Southern California, the Unruh Civil Rights Act protects individuals using facilities in alignment with their “gender identity” at business establishments.
