Authorities in Mobile, Alabama, were left stunned and a little confused after apprehending a porch pirate with a “particular look.”
A 46-year-old man named Todd Anthony Bond was arrested on Friday morning for allegedly swiping people’s packages. While security footage pointed the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office directly to Bond, the deputies admit that they initially believed the suspect was going to be a woman.
“A couple of things that kind of stuck out to us that helped solve this crime was the vehicle,” explained Sergeant Lonnie Parsons. “Obviously, the more important thing was this person’s particular look. Of course, with Halloween coming up, we were trying to understand whether this person was dressed for Halloween or if this is the way they normally dress.”
Bond had allegedly been cross-dressing during the less-than-sneaky swipes. In fact, he reportedly parked in front of one of the homes and did the deed in broad daylight. Luckily, he was caught on camera and apprehended during a traffic stop, but the police were thrown for a loop as the person on the footage was wearing a floral print skirt, a black blouse, and a purple headband holding back shoulder-length blonde hair. Bond was dressed in a similarly feminine way during the traffic stop where he was taken into custody, making it difficult to tell if he identifies as transgender or if he is simply cross-dressing for fun.

“We believe that the suspect had originally left the state, and we received information that they were possibly coming back into the state while we were sitting there lying in wait,” Parsons said of the arrest.
And according to him, the suspect was still in possession of the packages at the time of the stop.
“When we walked up and we placed them in custody, we looked inside the vehicle. Lo and behold, we found the original packages that were stolen from Mobile.”
Interestingly, Bond had only been out of jail for six months prior to this most recent arrest. Apparently, he was itching to get back, as he is currently in custody and awaiting his Monday morning bond hearing.
