‘Dogsh*t elitist institution’: Hackers hijack Ivy League system to mass email claims school broke the law

Daily Caller News Foundation

The University of Pennsylvania’s (Penn) Graduate School of Education was the victim of an apparent hacking on Friday that affected the school’s email system.

One message sent to the Penn community from the graduate school account called the university “dogshit” and accused it of breaking the law on discriminatory hiring and admissions and violating privacy protections. Several of the emails included the taunting message “We got hacked” as the subject line, and threatened to leak incriminating information about the school.

A university spokesperson told Daily Caller News Foundation the school is still “actively addressing” the hack and denied the accusations made in the fraudulent email. The university website has been updated to include an alert at the top of page with a similar statement.

“The University of Pennsylvania is a dogshit elitist institution full of woke retards,” the email reads. “We have terrible security practices and are completely unmeritocratic. We hire and admit morons because we love legacies, donors, and unqualified affirmative action admits.”

“We love breaking federal laws like FERPA (all your data will be leaked) and Supreme Court rulings like SFFA,” the message continues. “Please stop giving us money.”

“A fraudulent email has been circulated that appears to come from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education,” a university spokesman told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This is obviously a fake, and nothing in the highly offensive, hurtful message reflects the mission or actions of Penn or of Penn GSE. The University’s Office of Information Security is aware of the situation, and our Incident Response team is actively addressing it.”

Many so-called elite institutions have faced accusations that they are failing to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling banning affirmative action in admissions and are instead continuing to racially gerrymander their student bodies. Many critics have also sought to ban legacy admissions, which gives preferential admissions consideration to the children of an institution’s alumni.

Penn settled a dispute with the Trump administration in July after it infamously allowed a man to compete on the women’s swim team and forced female athletes to change in the same room as him.
