Fired CNN host Don Lemon continued his trend of criticizing women’s appearances on Monday by saying that SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly looks “trans.”
Lemon stated on the “Clip Farmers Podcast with Don Lemon” that Kelly looks “clockable,” which means that a person is able to be noticed as a drag queen or trans. While he worked at CNN, Lemon came under scrutiny for saying that former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley was not physically “in her prime” when she ran in the 2024 Republican primary.
“I think she looks trans,” Lemon said. “As I say, she looks clockable. Clockable, do you know what clockable is? Google it. It’s like when a drag person or a trans person is clockable.”

Lemon’s infamous comments about Haley during a Feb. 16, 2023, segment of “CNN This Morning” caused the former CNN host to be accused of misogyny. The former host apologized for his comments, calling his comments about Haley’s age “irrelevant.”
“The reference I made to a woman’s ‘prime’ this morning was inartful and irrelevant, as colleagues and loved ones have pointed out, and I regret it,” Lemon tweeted. “A woman’s age doesn’t define her either personally or professionally. I have countless women in my life who prove that every day.”
In 2008, Lemon reportedly threatened his female co-anchor, Kyra Phillips, in anonymous text messages while she was on assignment in Iraq, Variety reported in April 2023. The texts were traced back to Lemon, leading to a Human Resources investigation and prompting producers to remove him from the show.
Lemon also allegedly called a female colleague fat to her face and reportedly disrespected Nancy Grace and Soledad O’Brien during an editorial meeting, according to Variety. Not long after sending the texts, he mocked Grace by mimicking her on-air and suggested during the editorial meeting that O’Brien was not actually black after she landed the gig of hosting CNN’s “Black in America” docuseries.
The now-fired host also asked political commentator S.E. Cupp if she was suffering from “mommy brain” after she lost her train of thought during a September 2022 segment on CNN.
