MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace claims no Democrats have implied ‘Trump is Hitler.’ Cue the tape.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace claimed on “The Best People with Nicolle Wallace” Monday that she did not believe a single Democrat had ever implied President Donald Trump was equivalent to Adolf Hitler, despite several instances where party members referred to Trump as a “fascist” or outright compared him to the former German dictator.

Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker asserted on Wallace’s podcast that he had never “suggested that Donald Trump is Hitler,” despite his record of repeatedly linking Trump to Hitler and Nazis. Wallace not only accepted Pritzker’s claim at face value but took it a step further.

“I don’t think any Democrat has,” the MSNBC host said. “I actually think it’s a smear that they project back onto critics.”

Pritzker wrote in an Oct. 23, 2024, X post that Trump admired Hitler and would become a “dictator” if elected.

“The way Donald Trump praises and romanticizes Hitler is unhinged, disturbing, and disqualifying,” the governor wrote. “He is a dictator-in-waiting. We know exactly what he’ll do if he’s in power again. It cannot happen.”

Both the New York Times and The Atlantic published stories before on Oct. 22, 2024, where Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, alleged that Trump praised Hitler. The Trump campaign refuted both stories.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris cited Kelly and other former Trump officials to argue that Trump was a fascist during an Oct. 23, 2024, town hall. Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also said that former President Joe Biden believed Trump was a fascist during an Oct. 23, 2024, press briefing.

“You have heard from this president over and over again about the threats to democracy … And it’s not just us, the White House, saying this. You’ve heard it from officials, former officials who worked for the former president say this as well,” Jean-Pierre said. “So, you know, do we agree, I know that the vice president just spoke about this. Do we agree about that determination? Yes, we do.”

Furthermore, Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett called Trump a “wannabe Hitler” and “Temu Hitler.”
