The largest teachers’ union in America is again under fire, this time for erasing the existence of Israel and promoting terrorism.
Late last week, days ahead of Columbus Day (or what some leftists call Indigenous Peoples’ Day), the National Education Association (NEA) sent out a disturbing email containing resources for “teaching about indigenous peoples,” according to the Jewish News Syndicate.
Included in the email sent to the union’s three million members was a map of Israel that was incorrectly labeled as Palestine:

The email also included links to content that defended and/or even justified the Oct. 7 terror attack by Hamas, as well as Hitler.
The email was discovered by StopAntisemitism and the North American Values Institute (NAVI), the latter of which alerted JNS.
Steve Rosenberg, NAVI’s Philadelphia regional director, told JNS that it’s “deeply troubling that the nation’s largest teachers’ union would promote materials trafficking in antisemitic tropes and attempts to rationalize the atrocities of Oct. 7, let alone elevate groups that glorify terrorism.”
“At best, this reflects an organization that failed to meet its own standards of critical review and responsibility,” he added. “That’s an inexcusable lapse for any institution entrusted with shaping young minds.”
StopAntisemitism founder Liora Rez also slammed the NEA.
“I am appalled that the NEA promoted not only a map erasing Israel, but even linked to a third-party site glorifying Hitler,” she told Fox News. “That’s not education, that’s moral rot.”
“For over a year, the NEA allowed this antisemitic Nazi-era content to remain on its website — unnoticed or ignored. It was StopAntisemitism that finally exposed it, forcing the NEA to face what they refused to see,” she added.

The union has since “scrubbed the shocking material from its website,” according to the New York Post, save for a “Native Land Digital” map that still labels Israel as so-called “Palestine.”
“It has come to our attention that an external resource that was linked to on NEA’s website, which has been widely used by many news outlets and organizations for many years, falls well short of our standards,” an NEA spokesperson said in a statement, referencing the pro-terror content.
“We condemn in the strongest of terms the deeply offensive content linked on the website, and our team is working to identify a resource that meets our specific needs and standards. We have contacted the host organization to flag our serious concerns and have urged them to conduct a thorough review,” they added.
Rosenberg wasn’t impressed by the NEA “quietly” deleting the content without transparency or accountability.
“Quietly deleting the evidence isn’t transparency or accountability,” he told JNS. “The NEA owes educators, parents, and the public a full explanation and a sincere apology.”
NAVI chief strategy officer Josh Weiner, meanwhile, told Fox News that this scandal calls into question NEA’s whole mission.
“Mistakes like this that change and erase history call into question the academic integrity of the largest teachers union in the U.S., and unfairly undermine the credibility of all its members,” he said.
“Teachers unions and every K-12 institution should audit their resource materials accordingly to ensure their neutrality and basis in fact-sourced history,” he added.
This scandal comes only two or so months after the Congressional Committee on Education and the Workforce launched an investigation into NEA over its history of antisemitism.

The committee chairman, Rep. Tim Walberg, raised concerns about the NEA’s 2025 handbook and its coverage of the Holocaust, which primarily affected Jews.
The handbook nevertheless drew attention to the “more than 12,000,000 victims of the Holocaust from different faiths, ethnicities, races, political beliefs, genders, and gender identification, abilities/disabilities, and other targeted characteristics,” excluding Jews, of course.
“When it comes to both the Holocaust and the founding of the State of Israel, the NEA’s interest in educating about ‘historical injustices,’ ‘ongoing trauma,’ and ‘diaspora’ does not include the Jewish people,” Walberg said.
