MSNBC faced backlash Tuesday after becoming the only major television network not to air coverage of the White House ceremony honoring the late Charlie Kirk with the Medal of Freedom.
While nearly every other major broadcaster—including CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, NewsNation, Newsmax, One America News, and Right Side Broadcasting Network —aired President Donald Trump’s address in full, MSNBC chose instead to run a segment on the administration’s new tariffs.

“In a pathetic, biased tantrum, MSNBC—the propaganda arm of the radical left—stands alone as the ONLY network boycotting President Trump’s heroic Medal of Freedom ceremony for Charlie Kirk, proving once again they’re too cowardly to cover real American patriotism,” said Patriots Day Freedom Fest host Eric Deters.
Conservative figures across social media echoed the outrage, calling the network’s decision “disgusting” and “scum,” with many saying that even CNN, often critical of Trump, broadcast the entire event live.

Trump posthumously awarded Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom following his assassination during a debate at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. During the ceremony, Erika Kirk urged supporters to “be the embodiment of this medal” and “stand courageously in the truth.”
Federal and local officials arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson after a two-day manhunt for Kirk’s murder. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated murder, firearm discharge causing injury, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and committing a violent crime in front of children.
