President Donald J. Trump could be featured on a new commemorative $1 coin to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary, an honor that is guaranteed to send Democrats shrieking into the stratosphere.
Next year, America will celebrate what the White House is calling the “most important milestone in our country’s history,” the signing of the Declaration of Independence, casting off the tyranny of the British monarchy and establishing the United States as a bastion of freedom and liberty.
“The story of America makes everyone free,” Trump said, pledging a full year of celebration to culminate on July 4th, 2026, with patriotic festivities aplenty, including a UFC fight on the South Lawn of the White House.
Rumors of the specially minted Trump coin were confirmed by U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach, who shared early drafts of the proposed coin, which shows Trump’s profile on the front and an iconic image of the bloodied but unbowed leader defiantly raising his fist into the air after he narrowly missed being killed in a failed assassination attempt during an event in Butler, Pennsylvania last summer.
The image is accompanied by the words “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT,” Trump’s rallying cry during the iconic moment.
No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real.
Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over. https://t.co/c6HChM6ijG

“No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real,” Beach wrote. “Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.”
“Despite the radical left’s forced shutdown of our government, the facts are clear: Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is entering its 250th anniversary stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever before,” a Treasury Department spokesperson said in a statement that was reported by multiple media outlets.
“While a final $1 dollar coin design has not yet been selected to commemorate the United States’ semiquincentennial, this first draft reflects well the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles. We look forward to sharing more soon,” the Treasury spox added.
Expect Democrats and their vast network of lawfare specialists to mobilize to prevent the Trump coin from ever becoming reality. It isn’t legal to feature a living individual on U.S. currency.
According to 31 U.S. Code 5112: “Only the portrait of a deceased individual may appear on United States currency and securities.”
However, there is precedent for a live person to appear on coinage.
“Through Congressional authorization, President Calvin Coolidge was featured on the 1926 Sesquicentennial of American Independence Half Dollar alongside George Washington. The coin was issued to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and help fund the Philadelphia Sesquicentennial Exposition,” according to Newsweek.
In 2020, Congress passed the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020, a bipartisan bill authorizing the Secretary of the Treasury to issue special $1 coins for a one-year period starting on Jan. 1, 2026, as long as the designs are “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked if Trump had seen the draft during Friday’s daily press briefing. “I’m not sure if he’s seen it, but I’m sure he’ll love it,” she said.
