JD Vance breaks down the Dems’ big lie about healthcare for illegals

Vice President JD Vance took a torch to a key Democrat talking point regarding healthcare for illegal aliens.

Amid a government shutdown, Vance visited Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning to set the record straight on leftist allegations that they are not trying to provide funding for illegal immigrant healthcare.

Watch:

“Mr. Vice President, one lie continuing to be told is that ‘they are not giving funding to illegal healthcare.’ Can you explain to our audience why that is not true?” co-host Lawrence Jones asked.

“Yeah, this is a Democratic talking point, they say we are not actually trying to give healthcare benefits to illegal aliens, and here’s why it’s not true. There are two Biden-era programs that explicitly gave the taxpayer healthcare money to illegal aliens that we turned off when President Trump took over in January,” Vance said. “Program one, there is a lot of emergency healthcare at hospitals that are provided to illegal aliens that is funded by federal government. We turned off that funding because of course, we want American citizens to benefit from hospital services, not to be taxed and have hospital services go to illegal aliens.”

“The second of which, the Biden administration gave mass parole to millions upon millions of illegal aliens and then they simultaneously made those parolees eligible for healthcare benefits funded by taxpayers. In the One Big Beautiful Bill, President Trump and congressional Republicans turned off that money to healthcare funding for illegal aliens and Democrats want to turn it back on. In their initial proposal, the first thing they want to reopen government, they actually turned that money for healthcare benefits for illegal aliens back on,” he revealed. “So it is not something we made up, it’s not a talking point, it is in the text of the bill they initially gave to us to reopen the government. It is preposterous for them to run away from it now. But look, let’s set that all to the side, let’s open up government, let’s negotiate on all these healthcare policy issues. Obviously, we will not support healthcare for illegal aliens, but we will work with them to lower healthcare costs for Americans if they are willing to do so.”

Democrats are accusing Republicans of engineering an avoidable government shutdown, dubbed the “Schumer shutdown,” while Republicans point out that the left is refusing to compromise on some issues, such as healthcare funding for illegals. President Donald Trump was elected in 2024 by a large margin, due in part to his promises regarding the deportation of illegal aliens, which both sides of the aisle had agreed had become a significant problem under former President Joe Biden.
