A multi-agency task force based in Florida seized one million pounds of cocaine during fiscal year 2025, which ended on Sept. 30.
The amount of cocaine seized was enough to produce 378 million lethal doses and fill 42 dump trucks, according to an exclusive Fox News report.

The seizures were conducted by the Joint Inter-Agency Task Force – South (JIATF-S), which is led by U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM).
“The unit, which includes the U.S. Coast Guard, works with partner nations to disrupt the flow of illicit drugs through the ‘transit zone’ between South America, Central America, and the Caribbean and to weaken transnational criminal organizations,” Fox News notes.
“JIATF-S operates across 42 million square miles, from the Eastern Pacific to the Western Atlantic, stretching from international waters north of the Caribbean Antilles to the southern tip of South America at Cape Horn,” the reporting continues.
In a statement to Fox News, JIATF-S confirmed that the cocaine that was scooped up was enough to deny cartels and other narco-terrorists up to $11.34 billion in illegal revenue.
“By disrupting the flow of these deadly drugs, JIATF-S is saving lives and protecting our homeland,” the statement continued.

The latest bust occurred on Monday, Aug. 25th, when the U.S. Coast Guard seized 61,740 pounds of cocaine and 14,400 pounds of marijuana in the Miami area, according to a statement from Rear Adm. Adam Chamie, the Coast Guard Southeast District commander.
“The U.S. Coast Guard, in partnership with our federal, DoD, and international partners, are offloading 61,740 pounds of cocaine, and this represents a significant victory in the fight against transnational criminal organizations, highlighting our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation from illicit trafficking and its devastating impacts,” he said.
“To put this into perspective, the potential 23 million lethal doses of cocaine seized by the U.S. Coast Guard and our partners are enough to fatally overdose the entire population of the state of Florida, underscoring the immense threat posed by transnational drug trafficking to our nation,” he added.

The Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton, described by USA Today as “one of four 418-foot Legend-class national security cutters homeported in Charleston, South Carolina,” carried the drugs back to port.
“Team Hamilton, with our partners, worked incredibly hard the last several months to safeguard the American public from the dangers of illicit narcotics entering the United States,” Hamilton commanding officer Capt. John B. McWhite said.
All this comes as the Trump administration continues to intensify its assault against South American cartels and narco-terrorists.
The administration is “drawing up options to target drug traffickers inside Venezuela,” NBC News has confirmed.
“The plans being discussed primarily focus on drone strikes against drug trafficking groups’ members and leadership, as well as targeting drug labs,” the outlet reported, citing four sources.
It’d mark a huge escalation from the administration’s prior moves, which involved bombing drug-trafficking boats in the southern Caribbean.

President Donald Trump is “prepared to use every element of American power to stop drugs from flooding into our country and to bring those responsible to justice,” a senior administration official said.
Anibal Sanchez Ismayel, a Venezuelan political analyst, warned NBC News that a strike inside his country could have unintended ramifications.
“An attack on Venezuelan soil would have consequences from diplomatic protests to an increase in political persecutions of those they classify as collaborators, to further uniting the population with the need to defend sovereignty reaffirmed,” he said.
