A shooter opened fire at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility on Wednesday morning in Dallas, Texas, and has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.
Noem reported “multiple injuries and fatalities” from the shooting but noted the situation is ongoing in a Wednesday X post. “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them,” Noem said. “It must stop.”
Local police responded to an assist officer call at about 6:40 a.m. on North Stemmons Freeway and found that a shooter had fired at the ICE building “from an adjacent building,” the Dallas Police Department said on X. Two people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, while another shooting victim died at the scene, the department said.
The shooting follows other violent attacks on immigration facilities in Texas since President Donald Trump returned to office.

“Join me in praying for the victims of this heinous shooting,” Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton posted on X in response to Noem. “We will continue to do everything in our power to combat the alarming increase of targeted attacks against ICE and all law enforcement by evil, twisted individuals.”
The FBI’s Dallas field office did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed on social media that the agency was at the crime scene.
