President Donald Trump’s crime crackdown is continuing, looking to replicate his success in Washington, D.C., in other high-crime cities.
While speaking to reporters from the Oval Office on Monday, Trump revealed that the next city on his crime cleanup to-do list is Memphis, Tennessee. He shared some details about the Memphis Safe Task Force that will be working to bring crime down and help the city flourish.

The authorities taking part in the crackdown will include the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the National Guard, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. marshals, and Homeland Security Investigations.
“I’m tired of crime holding the great city of Memphis back,” stated Republican Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee. “When we come together, we can make significant change in our city and the city of Memphis … and I want to say thank you.”
Then, the president implied that he would continue to clean up crime in cities around the United States and would eventually make his way to Chicago. This comes despite protests aimed at keeping Trump and the National Guard out, appearing to protect criminals from the consequences of their actions.
“We’re going one by one, but we want to go quickly. We don’t want to lose Chicago. We’re going to lose Chicago. We’re going to lose places like– you go to St. Louis. We’re gonna lose St. Louis. We’re not going to lose — we want to save these places. You’re gonna lose ’em. The way the man said, it was very high-quality man. I said, ‘Who would you do next?’ He said, ‘Sir, to Chicago, you don’t want to the Chicago.’ We won’t lose Chicago,” Trump said.
“So we are going to have to go very big and we will go probably…we’re gonna hold it off, we would do some of the smaller ones, and the truth is our people are so good, you are doing a great job wherever you maybe. We are doing so good that we don’t, I don’t think we need to much practice, great. But we’ve got to go and save our big cities, our great cities. Chicago, it’s a great city. And we will make it great again very soon. I think we can do that despite the tremendous size. I think we can do a real job.”
